CITY COUNCIL:
LISTEN TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS!
John “the driller” Terrell, who is responsible for over 100 wells and counting at DFW airport closed Public Comment at the last City Council meeting regarding the Wright site, but our voices can still be heard. This is part of our democratic political process. Demand that Public Comment be re-opened. We have the right to voice our opinion on what businesses we want in our city, especially heavy polluters like the hydrocarbon industry!!
1.Speak with your neighbors. Educate them regarding the issues that affect ALL of Southlake. Air, Water, and Soil contamination, potential accidents, health impact, lifestyle degradation, and negative economic impact are not isolated to just the Pad Site. Contact Us with so we can add you to our growing list of concerned citizens.
2. Write and Call City Council and let them know, as residents, we will stand up to XTO and Energy Transfer. Public Comment must be re-opened regarding the Joe Wright Permit (SUP10-001). Your voice deserves to be heard! Remind City Council that they should adhere to the ordinances they helped write and deny this site.
Write and Call Carroll ISD Administration and School Board. CISD’s lease with Chesapeake has EXPIRED! Our school officials should take into consideration the concerns of parents and students before signing another lease.

3.Remember that this is a political process and elections are in May. Get registered to vote. Contact the candidates and ask them their position on Gas Drilling in Urban areas. These 2 permits will not be the last, see where they want to drill here. Mr Terrell has his “GAS GANG” (Terrell, Hill, Wang, Bledsoe, Muller) voting in unison. They have all voiced concerns but fall short with their votes and weak negotiations with XTO. What we have achieved is great but only due to the persistence of dedicated citizens! John Terrell told us that realtime air quality monitoring was not needed and could not be done 2 months ago; now both sites will have monitoring. We need New Council members and New Perspectives on this issue.
4.MOST IMPORTANTLY - SPREAD THE WORD. You will be surprised to find that people are just learning about these issues. Most people assume that the drilling companies are required to conduct these activities in a manner that protects us. They are not! TELL YOUR FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS.
THANK YOU!
